Burn Permits in Eureka Charter Township

Applications to burn are available on our website under Forms and in our office.  A burn application must be filled out and approved by the Zoning Administrator before you will get a permit number.  Once you have that number you MUST call Dispatch at 616-225-8500 to get final approval. Once that original form is on file, you can be issued a permit number good for 4 days at a time.  You may call or come in to get a new permit number each time you need to burn.  Please see Regulatory Ordinances, Chapter 9, Section 8 – Open Burning for additional information.

You do NOT need a burn permit if burning in a fire pit or burning barrel with a grate or cover.  If you have any questions, please contact Eureka Charter Township and ask to speak with the Zoning Administrator.

February 27 Presidential Election

In November, 2022 voters passed Proposal 2 which amended the State Constitution to include additional voting rights and protections and created additional options for Michigan voters to vote.  You now have three ways to vote: Early Voting (*see below), Absentee Ballot, and Election Day.

The biggest change with Absentee Voting is the addition of the Permanent Absentee Ballot List.  Voters who are on our Permanent Ballot List will automatically be mailed an absentee ballot before every election.

The one exception to this is the Presidential Primary.  This is the one election every four years where a voter has to select a party specific ballot.  All absentee voters will need to choose the type of ballot they want on the forms that were sent out.  Please return these forms as soon as possible.  Absentee Ballots will be sent out after January 18th.

If you vote in person during Early Voting or on Election Day, you will need to choose the party specific ballot you want at that time.

*Early Voting is taking place February 17 -25 for all Montcalm County voters at the Montcalm Pandemic Readiness Building, 651 N. State St., Stanton, MI.  It is located directly behind the Sheriff Department/Jail on north M66.
It will be open daily from 8:30 am – 4:30 pm, except for Wednesday, Feb. 21, when it is open from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm.

Sample Ballots
Precincts 1 & 2A (2-sided)
1 & 2A Republican
1 & 2A Democratic
1 & 2A No Party

Precinct 2B (Belding Schools)

Polls are open Tuesday, February 27,
